Mary Herring - Owner, Founder & Pet Care Extraordinaire
Mary has been an animal lover her entire life! Growing up, she wanted to be a veterinarian, but that all changed when she learned she didn’t have the stomach for it. She spent a lot of her time volunteering at the Adolescent Animal Refuge Foundation (AARF) in her home state of North Carolina, where she got to work with a large variety of animals, like emus & wolves. If you can think of it, she has probably touched it at least once! When she moved to New York in 2015, she was looking for a job, and she found out about pet sitting through an online app, and the rest is pretty much history. She has now settled in Massachusetts with her 2 teenagers & her fiance, along with their dog & 3 cats. She went through the EforAll Berkshire County Business Accelerator during the Fall of 2023, which allowed her to start Home Away Pet Care.
Sharon Connors - Pet Care Extraordinaire
Sharon was born and raised in the Berkshires. Since childhood, she has always had a love of animals, and a passion to care for them. She grew up having cats, a dog, fish, & a bunny. Even during adolescence, she would pet sit her neighbors’ pets while they were on vacation. She has also volunteered at a local animal shelter. She has a strong dedication and commitment for providing high quality, compassionate pet care. She feels that pets are a huge part of the family & they offer companionship, fun, laughs, & love. She also bakes homemade dog treats!
